Welcome to the Puget Sound Restoration Fund’s blog. We are providing this as a place for people to communicate who share our mission, whether they be shellfish gardeners on Bainbridge, research scientists in Vancouver, or an interested person with a question.
PSRF is holding its 3rd Annual Oyster Gala!
We are hosting this year’s event at “Yonder,” a beautiful private house on the north end of Bainbridge Island, available to local non-profits for events.
The Gala will be held on March 7th, 2009 from 5-7pm. We will sample and judge oysters grown on different beaches around the island. We will also be serving light appetizers and regional wines and demonstrating how to prepare geoduck sushi. So, come prepared to don an apron and roll up your sleeves.
If you would like to enter your oysters in the oyster tasting contest, please harvest 5 dozen oysters and deliver them to our office on March 6th. If you would like to help shuck oysters or prepare for the event, just let us know.
If you are interested in attending contact Morgan Rohrbach.

It was a dark and misty night after torrential downpours…and ten fearless volunteers (neighbors, students and teachers) helped us bag and haul native oysters down to the lower intertidal with flashlights and lanterns. Thank you for your help.
